Be Nimble, Be Quick, Be Flexible, and Learn
Over the past eight years at Yahoo, I led design teams across multiple verticals and various products. As Sr. Director of Product Design, I oversaw content experiences and tooling platforms for all Yahoo verticals, driving impactful product development.
My journey in tech started at Polyvore, a Bay Area e-commerce startup. After its acquisition by Yahoo, I honed my skills in 0-to-1 product development, thriving in agile, fast-paced environments. I built cross-functional teams in entertainment, lifestyle, and personal finance, eventually transitioning to Yahoo’s Home, News, Entertainment, and Life organizations.
While working in News, I identified a critical gap in editorial and programming tooling systems that lacked UX leadership. This inspired me to foster better collaboration between product, engineering, and editorial teams, leading the rebuilding of the internal content management system, and spearheading the unification strategy to create a cohesive platform suite, to enhance efficiency and user experience.
Building a Culture of Inspired Creatives
Before Yahoo, I gained valuable experiences in entertainment at studios like ABC Family, ABC, NBC, and Disney. At Walt Disney Animation Studios, I was part of the Talent Development, Outreach, and Recruitment team, where I learned the power of cultivating a supportive, creative, and growth-focused team culture. This philosophy of nurturing innovation and continuous learning directly influenced my approach to leadership.
At Polyvore, I had the privilege of working with leaders who championed a bottom-up approach to product development, fostering an environment where trust, curiosity, and learning from failures were key drivers of success.
